چکیده
Cutaneotrichosporon oleaginosus is a highly efficient single cell oil producer, which in addition to hexoses and pentoses can metabolize organic acids. In this study, fed-batch cultivation with consumption-based acetic acid feeding was further developed integrate the transformation of an industrial paper mill lignocellulosic hydrolysate (LCH) into yeast oil. Employing pentose-rich LCH as carbon source instead glucose significantly improved both biomass formation lipid titer, reaching 55.73 ± 5.20 g/L 42.1 1.7 (75.5% per biomass), respectively. This hybrid approach using one process optimized increase share bioavailable from combination continuous feeding. Finally, techno-economic analysis revealed 26% cost reduction when commercial glucose. summary, we leading holistic valorizing waste by converting it oleochemicals.

Enhanced xylose fermentation and hydrolysate inhibitor tolerance of Scheffersomyces shehatae for efficient ethanol production from non-detoxified lignocellulosic hydrolysate
Effective conversion of xylose into ethanol is important for lignocellulosic ethanol production. In the present study, UV-C mutagenesis was used to improve the efficiency of xylose fermentation. The mutated Scheffersomyces shehatae strain TTC79 fermented glucose as efficiently and xylose more efficiently, producing a higher ethanol concentration than the wild-type. A maximum ethanol concentrati...

متن کاملThermodynamic analysis and potential efficiency improvements of a biochemical process for lignocellulosic biofuel production
This paper presents a thermodynamic analysis of a biochemical process for the production of bioethanol from a lignocellulosic feedstock. The major inefficiencies in the process are identified as: i) the combustion of lignin for process heat and power production and ii) the simultaneous saccharification and fermentation process. As lignin is not converted to ethanol and lignin has a high value o...

To efficiently use lignocellulosic biomass hydrolysates as fermentation media for bioethanol production, besides being capable of producing significant amount of ethanol, the fermenting host should also meet the following two requirements: (1) resistant to the inhibitory compounds formed during biomass pretreatment process, (2) capable of utilizing C5 sugars, such as xylose, as carbon source. I...
